Learning Objectives
After completing this educational activity, participants should be better able to:
- Discuss the role of XELOX plus bevacizumab as initial therapy in the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer.
- Explain the consistent results involving panitumumab in heavily pre-treated patients with advanced colorectal cancer.
- Evaluate patient desires and physician beliefs regarding cytotoxic therapy in association with risk reduction of disease recurrence in patients with colorectal cancer.
- Discuss the potential role of oxaliplatin in addition to 5-fluorouracil in the treatment of rectal cancer.
- Consider results of different schedules and dosing of darbepoetin alfa and epoetin alfa and their effects on chemotherapy-induced anemia.
