Advances in the Treatment of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Chronic Lymphoid Leukemia: ASH 2002
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas (NHL) account for about 4% of all cancers, with an expected 53,000 new cases in the United States in 2002. There is reasonably good evidence that the incidence of NHL has increased during the last three decades and this trend is expected to continue.
Treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia: An Update: ASH 2002
Acute Myeloid leukemia is primarily a disease of adults with the median age at onset being over 65 years. Most clinical trials focus on the intensive treatment of patients under the age of 60 years because of the perception that older patients do not tolerate chemotherapy.

The 2002 meeting of the American Society of Hematology had over 200 presentations on multiple myeloma (MM) out of the a total of almost 5,000 abstracts accepted, including those for publication only.
