Treatment of Multiple Myeloma
There have been significant therapeutic developments over the past decade in the treatment of patients with multiple myeloma. At ASH 2003, two groups from the University of Arkansas and the Royal Marsden Hospital reported improved survival over time for patients treated sequentially for multiple myeloma.
Stem Cell Transplants for the Treatment of Multiple Myeloma
Over the past decade or more, autologous transplants following remission induction have been shown to prolong survival when compared to continued chemotherapy for the treatment of multiple myeloma.
