Ongoing Challenges in the Treatment of Gastric Cancer: ESMO 2002

New Approaches in the Treatment of Head and Neck Cancer: ESMO 2002
Five percent of all invasive cancers occur in the head and neck region with squamous cell being the predominant pathology. Less than 50% of individuals diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN) will be cured.

Emerging Trends in the Treatment of Hormone Refractory Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer related death in men. Once hormone refractory disease develops, it is incurable. There have been several classes of cytotoxic agents identified with some activity against prostate cancer.

Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer- Where Are We Going?
Although the five-year survival rate is poor in early stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with surgery alone, neither neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy can be recommended as standard. In patients with unresectable stage III disease, randomized trials have demonstrated the superiority of concurrent chemoradiation over sequential administration.
