Geron Corporation and Merck & Co. have announced that they have filed an investigative new drug (IND) application with the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a cancer vaccine targeting telomerase.
The cancer vaccine will target the enzyme telomerase, which provides cancer cells immortality in their number of replications.
The vaccine is not dendritic cell-based, compared to several other novel vaccines which are dendritic cell-based being developed by Geron.
