Cystoscopy Remains Best Method for Surveillance of Patients with Bladder Cancer (3/10/2010)
Researchers from the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center have reported that cystoscopy alone remains the most cost-effective method of detecting recurrent superficial bladder cancer. Researchers from the Massachusetts General Hospital have reported that 75% of patients with locally advanced bladder cancer can be treated successfully with combined modality therapy that preserves the bladder. Intravesical Taxotere® Maintenance Therapy May Improve Treatment of Superficial Bladder Cancer Refractory to BCG (11/18/2009)
Researchers from Columbia University have reported that induction and maintenance therapy with intravesical Taxotere® (docetaxel) is well tolerated and effective for treatment of patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer who are refractory to Bacilli Calmette-Guerin (BCG) therapy. The details of this study were reported in the October 2009 issue of British Journal of Urology International.
