Cancer Consultants, Inc. Introduces Women&Cancer
February 1, 2006—Cancer Consultants, Inc. announces the premier issue of Women&Cancer.
Published by Cancer Consultants Inc, Women&Cancer offers all women a trusted resource covering prevention, management and wellness issues related to cancer, while fostering community and inspiring hope. Women&Cancer is published quarterly in print and online at www.CancerConsultants.com, the premier online destination for both oncology consumers and professionals.
CancerConsultants.com has been providing current and clinically meaningful cancer information for eight years and is considered one of the most useful educational online resources available, according to a recent patient survey.
Women & Cancer recognizes the unique impact that a cancer diagnosis has on women’s lives. Many women are likely to manage their own treatment while continuing to care for their families; as well, women often provide care for a child, spouse, or relative diagnosed with cancer while continuing to manage households and careers.
The magazine educates readers on topics that include prevention, wellness, management of a cancer diagnosis and survivorship, while also addressing spiritual and emotional issues. Features on accessing the complicated medical system, breaking news on medical advances, and legislative issues are also covered. Each issue of Women & Cancer also includes inspiring stories of families and survivors and offers a frequently updated list of resources for patients and caregivers.
Women & Cancer is distributed in print and online at www.womenandcancermag.com. Subscriptions are available at www.cancerconsultants.com or subscribe@womenandcancermag.com. Patients who sign up online are offered a free one-year subscription. The initial magazine distribution is 150,000 copies, which are expected to increase to 300,000 by 2007. Subscriptions are provided to all oncology physician offices in the U.S., patients, hospitals, and the general public.
Charles Weaver, MD, Executive Editor of Women&Cancer stated: “We believe that a woman’s experience with cancer is broad and includes topics such as prevention, wellness, nutrition, spirituality, work- and home-life issues, and care giving. Ultimately, all women and their families are impacted by cancer in some way; our goal is to provide individuals with the necessary tools, resources, and community to address their concerns.”
